chestnuts? gao lat?

chestnuts was a great show, indeed - probably the one that made me laughed the hardest and also the loudest this year, and it's definitely way better than the dollies. it displayed excellent chemistry between the two very talented actors, hossan leong is really a natural comedian. many of the spoofs were very creativitely done (nothing's perfect, there were still some lame ones, hah), and i salute the creator's wit and seamless effort piecing the different segments all in this 2-hour show. although it was largely associated with star wars, which i know absolutely nuts about, i still managed to catch most of the humour. i particularly enjoyed 'the maid' segment and the news interview which shares various points of view of local government policies... but note the adult themes and the crude/offensive language though, certainly not for the faint-hearted! :P the show runs till next sunday, so catch it if you can! oh yeah, it was also my first time at the victorian-styled jubilee hall, there's this colonial ambience about the place that makes it very different from the modern esplanade theatre, great experience. :)
