i would consider today to be the unluckiest day for me this year.
1) i started off the day feeling slightly ill, still recovering from an infected throat and running/blocked nose (not to mention the dehydration and sunburn from the blistering heat). considering the planned meetings which have to be either urgent or important, i decided to carry on and lugged my stupid bulky laptop bag to catch a cab for my first discussion.
2) there were no available cabs for at least twenty minutes, and what made it worse was, there were just too many irritatingly rude folks who openly snatched my cab! they were so remarkably close there was simply no excuse - i wonder how people these days can be so thick-skinned, and mind you, some are executives in business suits. check out your basic manners, miss.
3) anyway, i was already extremely pissed at that point of time, and my kind user had to call me at that exact moment to request for some urgent help. i had to maintain my cool to explain to him some issues, juggling my mobile with one hand, and my bulky bags with the other, WHILE TRYING TO HAIL A CAB. frustration is the word.
4) somehow the cab journey on the way back to office made me even more sick than what i was already feeling, and i felt so breathless when i got off i had to stop by the pillar to catch my breath. i might be exaggerating, but it might just have been a case of heart-attack. oh yes, i almost forgot this... just as i was entering the office, one side of my wedges had to hit the revolving door (blame the bulky bags, once again), and the sole actually came off! thank god, it was just a matter of limping down one flight of steps and i had spare heels in office.
5) i cancelled my second meeting which was scheduled at 11am, so that i could settle down at my desk for a while longer. lunch and a good cuppa coffee did me some good for a while... and just when i thought my misery was over, that final group meeting with boss left me suffering from a mild headache, probably due to stress.
(on a happier note...)
for purely health reasons, i decided on a FULL-DAY LEAVE TOMORROW. i think i well-deserve this... (although holy shit, i have three reports to clear). and i think i well-deserve my NEW PAIR OF ASICS RUNNING SHOES too!

anyway, i'm thinking of getting these $125 delifrance dining vouchers at $100 - give me anything with their ciabatta bread anytime, that's comfort food for me.

oh yeah, not forgetting the other type of comfort food - MUM'S COOKING! mum is into homemade pizzas these days, after her previous crazes over konnyaku jelly, california maki, glutinous rice, etc (trust me when i use the word 'craze', she made the same dish three out of the past four dinners). thank god, it was yummy! think i'll request for her to add a dash of italian seasoning and substitute margarine with olive oil the next time round, just to give it that extra authentic italian flavour. ;)

just a last note before i go enjoy my sleep. i bought this choker necklace (see left picture) over the weekend from belinda (i like those organic shaped acrylic beads and how interestingly the purple and teal colours go together), and she actually named her next creation after me (see right picture)! that's so super cool! it's people like these and such sweet gestures that sometimes make my day, now i can't wait to receive my package! :)
