You Are a Purple Flower |
A purple flower tends to represent success, grace, and elegance. At times, you are faithful like a violet. And other times, you represent luxury, like a wisteria. And more than you wish, you find yourself heartbroken like a lilac. |
Your Candy Heart Says "Hug Me" |
A total sweetheart, you always have a lot of love to give out. Your heart is open to where ever love takes you! Your ideal Valentine's Day date: a surprise romantic evening that you've planned out. Your flirting style: lots of listening and talking What turns you off: fighting and conflict Why you're hot: you're fearless about falling in love |

remember i was craving for my easter eggs - i really got them! oh-so-swwwweeet. :D (although my toy turned out to be some ghost creature hanging on a stick, duh) it's really not a norm for locals to celebrate easter (not to mention, buy easter eggs), so it was quite a challenge looking for these, especially in the neighbourhood supermarkets. you probably can only get them at marks & spencer and cocoa trees these days, sad case.
and more baking! i finally got to use my loaf pan to make a banana loaf bread. haven't got down to tasting it, but judging by the ingredients added, i believe the texture's probably going to be more cake-like. parents are going to be so pleased to see this tomorrow morning during breakfast, hah!

Your Inner Child Is Angry |
You're not an angry person. But when you don't get your way, watch out. Like a very manipulative kid, you will get what you want. Even if it takes a little kicking and screaming. |
Your Ideal Relationship is Serious Dating |
You're not ready to go walking down the aisle. But you may be ready in a couple of years. You prefer to date one on one, with a commitment. And while chemistry is important, so is compatibility. |
You Are a Smiley Face Cookie |
You're happy go lucky. So happy, in fact, it's a little past the point of normal sanity. You usually make those around you smile ... when you're not creeping them out! |
You Are a Powdered Devil's Food Donut |
A total sweetheart on the outside, you love to fool people with your innocent image. On the inside you're a little darker, richer, and more complex. You're a hedonist who demands more than one pleasure at a time. Decadent and daring, you test the limits of human indulgence. |

easter hot cross buns!
According to the book Dates and Meanings of Religious & Other Festivals, hot cross buns "used to be kept specially for Good Friday with the symbolism of the cross, although it is thought that they originated in pagan times with the bun representing the moon and its four quarters."
The custom of eating hot cross buns goes back to pre-Christian times, when pagans offered their god, Zeus, a cake baked in the form of a bull, with a cross upon it to represent its horns. Throughout the centuries, hot cross buns were made and eaten every Good Friday, and it was thought that they had miraculous curative powers. People hung buns from their kitchen ceilings to protect their households from evil for the year to come. Good Friday bread and buns were said never to go moldy. This was probably because the buns were baked so hard that there was no moisture left in the mixture for the mold to live on. Hot cross buns and bread baked on Good Friday were used in powdered form to treat all sorts of illnesses.
recipe adapted from joyofbaking.com. it's the first time i tried making yeast bread, you really need alot more patience and time waiting for the yeast to activate and the dough to rise, and the whole lot of kneading work involved. thank goodness, the buns turned out pretty nice (3 gone within minutes!), though i wished i also had dried cranberries and fruit peels instead of plain old currants, and could have made the glaze a little thicker. my breakfast for tomorrow, these are best eaten warm with margarine and jam. ;)

i'm craving for my chocolate easter egg!
last friday, my university class met up at riverwalk tandoor and that was my first proper indian food experience. the food was surprisingly tasty and i particularly enjoyed the mutton curry which was cooked in yoghurt and the tandoori chicken, which we ate with saffron rice and naan. for once, we felt like minorities, especially so when there was this huge group of bangladeshi workers just behind us and the way the scoop mountains of rice onto their plates was somewhat scary. the restaurant's service standard was top-notch, it's seldom you get the waiter asking how's the food, and showing concern when one of us hardly touched the milk custard dessert. even for somebody like me with a sweet tooth, indian desserts are far too sweet for me, particularly the gulab jamun - milky balls which has a cake-like-texture, soaked in concentrated sugar syrup.

colour quiz
What Color Are You?
BLUES are motivated by INTIMACY, seek opportunities to genuinely connect with others, and need to be appreciated. They do everything with quality and are devoted and loyal friends and employers/employees. Whatever or whomever they commit to are their sole (and soul) focus. They love to serve and will give freely of themselves in order to nurture others lives.
BLUES, however, do need to be understood. They have distinct preferences and occasionally the somewhat controlling (but always fair) personality of a confident leader. Their code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy sharing meaningful moments in conversation as well as remembering special life events (i.e., birthdays and anniversaries).
BLUES are dependable, thoughtful, nurturing, and can also be self-righteous, a bit worry-prone, and emotionally intense. They are like sainted pit-bulls who never let go of something once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere, make an effort to truly understand them, and truly appreciate them.

KL!
berjaya time square was surprisingly a pretty nice hotel, despite hearing some negative reviews about service standards before i left. the rooms are very spacious, even the basic deluxe room (read: cheapest) comes with a connecting tv viewing area with plenty of room to throw our luggage and shopping. even for triple sharing, we were absolutely comfortable. anyway, i seriously regret not bringing along my running shoes - the gym at one glance when passing by looks totally brand new (i hate dreary old gyms, where what you take in is only stale air! and THEN i had to see the organic shaped pool and lounge chairs - damn, damn, damn... i really should thought beyond the shopping, afterall it's a 5* hotel (in a 3* country).
food glorious food! i have to start doubling up my running after those two midnight pigging-out sessions, on nachos, potato chips, cheezels, super ring, yan-yan, tim-tams, etc. i think we went overboard with sugar-loaded food and snacks, haha... anyway, malaysian kenny rogers and secret recipe food still cannot be compared to ours, though everything's half-price - cheap cheap cheap.

the story of an asshole
i'm seldom pissed, the most my blood boils when certain plain dumb users throw me the most silly questions or requests, but this time round, i was so SUPER DUPER PISSED at this particular ASSHOLE i can blabber a whole long string of foul language just to vent my frustration, but i have just decided not to taint my blog because of such a jerk. seriously, you should really consider looking into your own pool of pee before you start commenting on others - big head? your's probably filled with helium, so you can't even consider it an air-head. and seriously, what do you mean by blinded by ugliness - well, maybe you ARE really blind, not to even realise that you yourself look seemingly like e.t. (minus the cuteness, pls), and perhaps you haven't been educated enough to know how measles truly look like, maybe you need to contract them to know. i really really don't get it why you're mocking at others' physical appearances when you below the 25th percentile yourself, doesn't that make you feel the least undignified.
in my whole 25 years, i've never met a guy that is THIS insensitive, and he just doesn't know how to shut up - such behaviour would only lower and uglify himself (further), which no amount of gentlemanly acts can salvage. thank god, he's not a friend.

blissful birthday
for those who hasn't been to punggol park (just like me before sunday), do give bliss a try! it's a perfect place to bring a date if you're thinking of al fresco dining next to a picturesque lake - it serves mainly cafe-styled food, we had two of the chef's recommendations - lobster baked rice, steak & salmon combo (with cream of mushroom and mango ice-cream) - and both turned out perfect in terms of taste and presentation. value-for-money too! add in another glass of wine and that really completes the whole romantic ambience. lining up was yet another surprise, and this time round, i landed up at the night safari after a short drive - totally unexpected! (no wonder no heels were allowed) too bad we weren't allowed to take that many pictures, as the camera flash would scare the nocturnal animals.
nice.
not forgetting, many thanks to J & WL for MORE new accessories (i'm such an accessories whore!) - chunky hot pink bracelet and flower earrings, and WH for a pink pen holder - exactly what i need to hold my stationary, i think he's hinting i should start clearing up the mess on my desk. :P

birthday weekend
two surprise cakes! jane's cake station chocolate fudge cake from a lovely bunch of colleagues, and this was after a ten-course farewell meal... my goodness! it may look plain without any lit candles, but it was such a sweet gesture i really didn't need anything else to brighten up my day. :) i need to try lana's again to compare, this is almost just as good, if not better! the other blackforest cake was from the dearest, such a well-kept surprise i must put up these pictures, despite the unkempt hair, super unglamorous, harhar.
heaven was kind to us, the slight drizzle stopped by evening, and it was barbecue time! and like how jack put it, it's the first time we can actually feel relaxed organising a barbecue, to actually be able to sit down at a round table to enjoy our fruits of labour. as usual, there were too much food - sizzling seafood & meat galore (garlic prawns, sambal sotong, fish, chicken wings), ramly burger (check out the pic!), and not forgetting all our colourful vegetables (zucchini, peppers, mushrooms) tossed in olive oil and then grilled to perfection. oh yes, jack's mum also made the tastiest beehoon! many thanks to jack for hosting the party this time round, and letting all of us stink your room towards the end, and thanks to all for the gym pants and card! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to xp and jack, once again - we're officially all quarter-centurions. (xp, shall we go get anti-ageing eye cream or something one day?)
