birthday weekend
two surprise cakes! jane's cake station chocolate fudge cake from a lovely bunch of colleagues, and this was after a ten-course farewell meal... my goodness! it may look plain without any lit candles, but it was such a sweet gesture i really didn't need anything else to brighten up my day. :) i need to try lana's again to compare, this is almost just as good, if not better! the other blackforest cake was from the dearest, such a well-kept surprise i must put up these pictures, despite the unkempt hair, super unglamorous, harhar.

heaven was kind to us, the slight drizzle stopped by evening, and it was barbecue time! and like how jack put it, it's the first time we can actually feel relaxed organising a barbecue, to actually be able to sit down at a round table to enjoy our fruits of labour. as usual, there were too much food - sizzling seafood & meat galore (garlic prawns, sambal sotong, fish, chicken wings), ramly burger (check out the pic!), and not forgetting all our colourful vegetables (zucchini, peppers, mushrooms) tossed in olive oil and then grilled to perfection. oh yes, jack's mum also made the tastiest beehoon! many thanks to jack for hosting the party this time round, and letting all of us stink your room towards the end, and thanks to all for the gym pants and card! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to xp and jack, once again - we're officially all quarter-centurions. (xp, shall we go get anti-ageing eye cream or something one day?)
