more cny photos

these pictures were taken at neumann's place last friday. well, we didn't know there was going to be food (actually a feast) provided, so we happily had our favourite post banana walnut cornflakes and spoilt our appetite. oops, i forgot to insert the usual food picture... other than yusheng (btw, that was my 5th time), we had sizzling hot plate barbecue - prawns, fresh scallops, black pepper beef, pork slices with horrendous amount of butter (*shakes head*). goodness, just when i think i'm really done with this whole yusheng thing, my mum informed that we'll be having yusheng again this coming sunday, this time round together with my bro&SIL since they just got back from turkey, did i mention it's going to be my 7th time!?! anyway, other than the leftover cny goodies, my house is also flooded with turkish delight, all sort of coated nuts and turkish apple tea (which i'm going to try right after finishing this entry). it's no wonder my throat has been feeling dry for the past days, i'm starting to cough and i can feel the phlegm building up, argh.

we also had the opportunity to watch the chingay parade this year, all thanks to wey for the free tickets and ken for letting us jump the queue. they weren't the seatdown tickets though (i guess only tourists would pay $45); they were half-lane zone tickets which means we were only allowed to sit on the road pavement... well, as usual, we were a little ill-prepared, no picnic mat (you really must give in to singaporeans, some even brought along portable chairs okay!), no dinner (damn, the old chang kee curry puff beside us never looked so tempting before), only us going trigger happy at the brightly lit floats, stilt walkers and dancers in fancy costumes. guess my only complain was having to wait almost two hours for the parade to start, not only was my stomach grumbling, my butt was also aching badly... and oh yes, no pretty enough dancers to ogle at.
