first henry parker wedding
i meet up with this group of lovely ladies only once a year, it's our tradition to exchange gifts every christmas and we've been doing so since we were 12! each year when we meet up, we'll catch up on the old times and very importantly (and excitedly), update each other our dating status... it'll usually goes like this "hey, are you still with XXX, that guy you met at YYY/the guy who flew you overseas for your birthday/the guy whom you spoke on the phone with last year?". as years go by, things started to stablise somewhat, and we started discussing about wedding dates, favourite wedding venues, etc. and finally it was zer's wedding last night - the first among us!
it was a grand affair with a total of 80 tables - it's crazy since the hubby's a canadian-born chinese and they already had an earlier wedding in toronto, it's the first wedding i had to stand in a long queue to register at the reception, and to queue yet again to say good-bye. and it's also the first wedding i hear both dads speaking, it's funny how zer's dad described alan - "...not bad, just as tall as i am, but half as good-looking. i knew he was the guy, because he loves his rice as much as i do, and... he loves zerlina as much as i do". ahhhh, incredibly touching. this sweet friend of mine will be flying off to boston on monday, but she'd be back for christmas as usual... apparently her pre-booked flight shows she'd be back on our wedding day itself but she promised to try to get in one day earlier. yay. :-)

baby mikel turns one!
did you see that, did you see that? the whole family donning the liverpool jersey, and the birthday cake having the same theme - it's quite obvious who's idea it was. :-P hey, just a strange thought, what if mikel grows up to be a man u or chelsea fan and sees himself in such an outfit? (mark's gonna hammer me! *ouch*) anyway, globetrotters is quite a cool party place for private kids functions and the fingerfood they served was yummy too, we really stuffed ourselves full with the honey baked wings (i love them 'cos they're really sweet!), quesadillas (i only knew they were known as tacos) and nachos... so much so we skipped dinner! and wen's right, the best part to have a party outside is that you don't have to worry about the cleaning up!
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, MIKEL! oh yes, uncle iggy wishes that you'll grow up a smart and healthy boy (since it's already obvious you're BIG & STRONG like daddy). :-D

great buddies at work
this is my entire team - very young huh! and that's the tiramisu i made, with my programme group initials. it was only my second attempt, but glad it turned out edible, just too bad the fridge at the chalet wasn't cold enough so the cream kind of melted a little.
