a surprise dinner at the line
well, this was really a surprise... firstly, my birthday is one week later so i really didn't expect anything planned that weekend. anyway, the hubby claimed that this wasn't meant as a birthday celebration, but was more of a "reward" of being a good mummy to our little girl (as he said it, no 1-carat diamond reward, just a nice buffet dinner) - thank you, daddy! anyway, the line was having a 38% discount, so it's pretty worth it - the salmon sashimi and prime rib beef were excellent! and i'm glad i still managed to eat my fair share when ashley fell asleep halfway through dinner, but i kinda missed out on the dessert (argh, my cheesecake!) as she started to become rather grouchy later that evening. we can't go out in the evenings these days if we have to bring her along since she needs her beauty sleep by 7-ish, and you'll know it when she doesn't smile back at you and starts tugging at her ears... and since we really don't like disrupting her routine, we don't really have a nightlife these days. well well, the sacrifices that we need to make as parents!

the weekend with our little bundle of joy
on saturday at manhattan fish market with uncle keith - she was in deep sleep by the time we reached the restaurant, and woke up 3/4 through our meal (luckily i was almost done)! the waitress adored her and claimed that she has got "high cheekbones"... eh, chubby cheeks yes, but high cheekbones, how to tell!?! anyway, she also started shrieking (in very high pitch) the whole time... and it wasn't because she was under distress, it was simply out of fun.
sunday mornings with the hubby is extremely precious, so i dragged him out of bed to have breakfast at west coast park macs - hotcakes for him, and triple decker sandwich for me! and our little girl was in deep sleep by the time we reached home.

a crazy week at work
it has been a crazy work week and i'm thankful the weekend is here. i'm seriously not looking forward to monday 'cos next week is going to be another hell week. hopefully things will be back to normal soon! i didn't had the opportunity to link ashley's latest pictures to the blog earlier, but anyway, here they are!
since her neck is getting quite strong, i decided to try putting her on the bumbo chair and she seems to like it!
last sunday, we took her for her first hair cut since it was getting abit unkempt... and now she looks kind of boyish! you'll have to be dressed in pinks and flowers from now on, my little girl. :-)
and after her hair cut, she went for a swim... and she swam for 45 minutes! we thought she would be exhausted after that, but she was still very active that evening... our energiser bunny baby! think it'd be tougher when she starts crawling and walking!
